WHO AM I?

My name is Connor.

As a teenager, I was heavily misunderstood. I tried to explain to people what I felt and why I felt a certain way, but somehow, what I wanted to say never seemed to come across the way I wished for it to come across. This caused for many fights and a lot of fiery "discussions" with people close to me; I say discussions, but what they really were, were shouting contests of me shouting at people and the people shouting back at me.
I soon realised that this was not the way it should be and that by shouting and dismissing what others were saying, we would never find common ground and only drift further away from each other.

As a child, I have always been interested in making people feel better. I've always wanted to make people happy and have been doing so through music and conversation. Feeling so misunderstood and blaming that on everyone else, set me miles away from what I love to do: Making people want to take on the adventure that is Life.
I decided to sit down with the people I loved and had them tell their side of the story. My only input in this was that I would try to take in every word they spoke in hopes to understand what they tried to tell me all this time.
And this... Was where magic happened. Suddenly all those frustrations from both sides and all these years of shouting and misunderstanding each other, seemed to disappear into nothing.
This is when I decided that from that moment on, I would try to listen to everyone that was genuinely interested in having a conversation with me.

A few years later, I learned about this skill called Active Listening, also known as Conscious Listening or Reflective Listening. I spent hours upon hours watching YouTube videos, reading through books and articles and even attended masterclasses in order to get even better at what I had initially been teaching myself to do.

Combining this with my interest in Psychology and understanding how the human brain works, I decided to start project Morningstar. With this, I am hoping to give people a safe place to speak their words without judgement to someone who will do their best to truly understand what they wish to say, even though they might struggle to put it into words.

If you have any more questions, do not be scared to contact me.

I hope to hear from you soon.
